2017 Cartier Tank Américaine
A Tank Américaine with a silvered dial, an elegantly elongated steel case, and the ETA 2671 automatic movement.
Overview
The Tank Américaine was first released in 1989 in yellow gold and was distinctively heftier and longer than the traditional Tank. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s the watch was produced in a variety of designs and sizes using precious metals only. Then, in 2017, Cartier unveiled the first series of the Tank Américaine in stainless steel. There were 3 sizes released and what we have here is the largest, reference WSTA0018. The case measures 26.6mm by 45.10mm and 9.65mm thick and certainly feels substantial and modern, yet still retains a high level of classical elegance thanks to its simple, curved case.
