Overview
In the summer of 2022, Zenith collaborated with watch media powerhouse Hodinkee to produce a stunning 300-piece limited edition of the El Primero. Using the popular Chronomaster Original line as its foundation, the new Hodinkee Edition came fitted with a matte opaline salmon dial with grey accents—a nod to the brand’s usage of that color across several of its limited edition collaborations. Even the date window at 4:30, which is a standard feature of the El Primero, was thoughtfully given the same salmon color treatment, allowing it to seamlessly integrate into the design. Never before has an El Primero been equipped with such a dial, and the result may just be the most beautiful watch Zenith has produced since the original A386 in 1969.

Case has only a few superficial hairlines. Lugs are thick, full, and sharp with superb finishing. Dial, hands, and lume may have micro imperfections visible only with a loupe.
Case: The watch was worn only a handful of times and shows absolute minimal signs of wear. There are a couple of micro hairlines to the polished bezel and the case back, and a few faint marks on the back of the lugs from changing straps. Outside of that there are no imperfections to note and the watch looks as good as new.
Dial, Hands, & Crystal: The matte opaline salmon dial is in perfect condition with no imperfections and fully functioning Super-LumiNova. The front and rear sapphire crystals are squeaky clean and scratch-free.
Bracelet/Strap: The Zenith stainless steel bracelet is in unworn condition with all protective stickers present.
Performance
Functions: All functions including the crown-winding, time-setting, date-changing, and chronograph start/stop/reset are working as expected.
