Overview
In 1996, Vacheron Constantin, fresh off its acquisition by the Vendôme Luxury Group, re-entered the integrated bracelet sports watch category with the introduction of the Overseas. Designers Dino Modolo and Vincent Kaufmann focused their efforts on creating a travel-ready watch that was inspired by the legendary 222, yet distinctively different. The new Overseas sported the usual barrel-shaped case, but was now fitted with a three-piece bracelet, crown guards, a COSC certified movement, and a polished bezel that was a direct nod to the brand’s Maltese cross logo.
The first generation Overseas was produced until 2004, when it was replaced by the second generation, which further modernized the design with a more aggressive Maltese cross inspired bracelet, sportier dials, and a soft-iron inner case for enhanced antimagnetism. In 2016, Vacheron Constantin unveiled the current third generation with display casebacks, in-house movements, a refined six-notch bezel, and an interchangeable quick-release strap system. Today’s lineup encompasses everything from ultra-thin perpetual calendars and tourbillons to versatile self-winding daily wearers in a variety of case sizes.
The reference 4600V/200A-B980 offered here represents the latest mid-size version of the standard Overseas model. Featuring the deep sunburst blue lacquered dial that has become a hallmark of the collection, the 34.5mm case hits a sweet spot for those with smaller wrists or collectors who prefer more modest proportions. Powered by the in-house calibre 1088/1 with a 22k gold rotor, the watch maintains the same 150m water resistance as its full size brother, but benefits from a 1.5mm reduction in case height. As with all third generation Overseas models, the 4600V includes Vacheron’s interchangeable strap system—allowing seamless shifts between its stainless steel bracelet and the included rubber and calfskin straps.

Case may have a few moderate scratches or nicks. Lugs are thick and full but may have softened edges. Dial and hands may have light stains or marks. Lume may have cracks or discoloration.
Case: The stainless steel case shows normal wear in the form of a few hairlines, small scuffs, and light scratches throughout. The case angles remain well-defined, with crisp chamfers and clean edges. The caseback is well preserved with only a couple faint marks and no notable imperfections. The model and serial number engravings remain sharp and legible.
Dial, Hands, & Crystal: The blue dial and polished hands are in excellent condition overall, with the dial having a tiny hair right near the 11 o’clock marker. The Super-LumiNova plots across the dial and hands functions normally. Both front and rear sapphire crystals are squeaky clean and scratch-free.
Bracelet/Strap: The Vacheron Constantin bracelet is in good overall condition with little-to-no stretch present. There are hairlines and desk-diving marks throughout, mostly near the clasp. The clasp itself opens and closes securely. The Maltese Cross engraving is crisp and detailed. Note that there is a half link included that has not been mounted due to missing a screw pin. The extra rubber and leather straps are in excellent condition with light wear present. The deployant buckle shows desk-diving wear.
