1990s Zenith De Luca El Primero
A De Luca with a stunning panda dial, a diving case with a rotating bezel, and the El Primero 400 automatic movement.
Overview
The De Lucas were a special edition of the El Primero produced between 1988 and 1996 in both panda and reverse panda dial configurations. The design was inspired by the chief Italian import agent for Zenith at the time, who went by the nickname “De Luca”. Only 6,500 pieces were made and spread out across 4 versions, each of which seemed to inch closer and closer to the look of the Rolex Daytona. These watches have now become a cult classic amongst Zenith enthusiasts and one even showed up recently in Zenith’s “Icons” section of their online shop.
