2015 Grand Seiko Spring Drive AJHH 'Redflake' LE
A Spring Drive with a superb white dial, a red power reserve indicator, and the Grand Seiko 9R65 spring drive movement.
Overview
In 2015, Grand Seiko took their legendary Spring Drive “Snowflake”—known for its dial that resembles the texture and shimmer of freshly fallen snow—and developed a limited edition in partnership with the Association Japan de la Haute Horlogerie (AJHH). A total of 369 pieces were produced to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the AJHH, which consists of several luxury watch shops in Japan who work together to pass on the culture and tradition of watches to the next generation through education and innovation. For their limited edition they downsized the case from 40.5mm to 39mm and utilized stainless steel instead of titanium. In addition, the 5-piece bracelet was swapped for a sportier 3-piece bracelet, and the power reserve hand and “Spring Drive” text were colored in a distinctive red. The result is an absolutely stunning variant of the “Snowflake” that—due to its limited quantities and desirable features—has become one of the most highly collectible modern Grand Seikos.
